Life On The Lake

Stretching 50 acres, Wye Mills Community Lake was formed in colonial times to hold water to operate a grain mill. It is now a great place to fish and spend time with family.

The upper one-third of the lake is shallow with gradual drop-offs, while the lower two-thirds have more depth and steeper drop-offs. This lower part is great for fishing. Anglers who want to cast out a line have a chance to reel in largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie.

Swimming is not allowed in Wye Mills Community Lake. There are no horsepower limits for boats, but the maximum speed limit is seven miles per hour. Electric trolling boats are preferred. A boat ramp is located just north of Wye Mills Community Lake Park.
